Character & World History

World History;

Mithra's world is of your standard fantasy/medieval/steampunk flare. It was a barren planet once long ago until two space-faring beings in the image of dragons descended upon its lands. The primitive species that lived there were draconic and held little in terms of thought and capabilities. The two space-faring gods took it upon themselves to alleviate this issue and thus bore life to talking, intelligent, and powerful dragons. They each took a star from their bodies and from these stars, they created the dragon gods and goddesses that currently rule the lands.

Nelalegg is the god of agriculture and farming
Ystistegu is the goddess of technology
Mot-ullhll the god of commerce and communications
Zisithurah the god of academic magery and knowledge
Krtaang the god of metalworking and warfare
Eirraynth the god of time
Menasseit the goddess of beauty and devotion
Dhiale the god of darkness and the moon
Edhial the goddess of light and the sun
Cydron god of water
Pyvrantag god of fire
Vollorth goddess of air
Ionnath goddess of earth
Xeokirryd god of death and plague

These gods and goddesses then formed and worked together to create their people. Helping to cultivate the land so that they may grow and prosper in peace and harmony. The gods were always looking for new and interesting things to try and make and that's when humans came along. Although human in appearance they also bore the soul stars of the space-faring gods and were draconic as well. All humans born into this society and planet are capable of turning into dragons and those that were blessed by certain gods/goddesses were given additional powers to the ones they were born with. These humans with special powers bestowed upon them via the gods would be known as star-blessed humans. Many of the population were granted such powers but to make it so that people weren't inherently using their powers for evil against their kind the gods would make sure that those who used their powers on others for reasons outside what they deemed acceptable would be sealed away in what would be known as Aithayrth's prison realm. With these rules in place, the planet of Xenonear thrived and was otherwise extremely peaceful up until catastrophe struck.

The students of Zisithurah were always looking to improve and make new magical, technological, and other such advancements for the good of all the people within the realms of Xenonear. Until one such day when a magical experiment went wrong and tore a rift in the fabric of space and time. All of Xenonear was in an uproar and the gods descended from their plane of existence to try and mitigate the damages done. However, even for them the severity of the damage was too great and beings from across the fold began to claw and crawl their way through into the realm of Xenonear. The ground zero point became the stronghold for these otherworldly creatures and they were referred to as the kezt'zhist for their eldritch appearance and powers. The people of Xenonear fought long and hard against the kezt and were successful for a time at driving them back until the kezt sent out an emissary to meet with the gods asking for a chance to have a meeting with them in the hopes of coexisiting with one another. This emissary was known as Vh'iztil and with their guidance a mutual understanding was met with the eldritch beings of a world known as Erah'dul and Xenonear. The beings of Erah'dul made their home city and town on a continent separate from the whole of Xenonear. Only people brave enough to enter could do so as they pleased. The denizens of Erah'dul were not allowed to associate with Xenonear or its people otherwise. Seeing this a group of adventurous explorers and students of Zisithurah decided to break the mold and travel to the city of Ethaoldoxr where they became good friends and advocates for the strange people of Erah'dul. This sparked mutual learning and companionship and Xenonear opened its borders to the people after 100 years of peace and understanding.

The peace, however, would not last as the rift was not closed although it was monitored and guarded by the strongest of Erah'dul and Xenonear itself. However, one day, a being of some infamy in Erah'dul manages to escape its high-security prison and breaks through into Xenonear. This being is known as Yaxaozhon who has been known to cause upheaval of peaceful times and communities. Its introduction into the world of Xenonear would be the start of a drastic and almost world-ending series of events. Yaxaozhon and its followers The Society of the Grim Ink would end up killing and possessing one of the more famous and duty-bound demi-gods. Visah was a dragon born from Vollorth and one of her consorts. A peace-loving demi-god he helped in bridging the gap between Erah'dul and Xenonear's citizens so his death and subsequent defilement by Yaxaozhon enraged the gods and goddesses of Xenonear. Yaxaozhon took it upon himself to become the Demon King of Ethaoldoxr and many battles and wars ensued for over 500 years until one day the Demon King was driven back and it closed off the continent holding its people and Xenonear's people hostage for around 100 years or so Ethaoldoxr has been sealed off and attempts made to break into the city. However, the damage to Xenonear was large and the remnants of battles and suffering can be seen throughout the planet. It's at this point that Mithra was born into the world.

Personal History;

Mithra was born after the sealing of Ethaoldoxr into the family of Xelesti. Mithra was one of 5 siblings 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Mithra was the runt of the litter and was often seen as weak physically but with a strong grasp of the magical arts. His parents seeing this sent him off to Zaurorth, Institute of Magic at the age of 10 where he would live for the next 10 years until he was 20 years old. Throughout his decade at the haven, Mithra went through training, learning, and trials to become further blessed by Zisithurah himself in the matter of Libriomancy.

Mithra's interest and brimming curiosity got him into trouble at the best of times, as he once time went to explore ruins and find lost texts in an inhospitable forest, only to come out with having freed the forest spirit and being blessed by it to always have animal companions come to his aid. Mithra, like others born in his time, was taught of the battles of Xenonear and the Demon King and most were recruited to aid in the fights that still go on from time to time. Xenonear isn't at peace but the large-scale wars aren't as frequent or numerous as they once were. Mithra has no battle prowess at all and is more of a pacifist than anything else so he opts out of these things as much as he can. Instead, he finds himself under the tutelage of a libriomancer by the name of Oirsait who used to be a warrior in the war 800 years ago but has long since dedicated himself to collecting artifacts and old tomes in need of restoration. Mithra would work with him for around a year or so before Oirsait would give Mithra his bookshop and companion, Lebo, to look over as he retired and left to go back to his homeland. Mithra would man and adventure to the surrounding areas to collect more interesting magical books and also use his magics to help the towns around the area gaining him a bit of a following and increased customer approval. Soon his magical exploits would garner the attention of Ezin the Hero but also others who were there with nefarious purpose. One night upon returning to the book story Mithra was captured and held hostage by a group of the Demon King's followers. Mithra was held captive and tortured for a few hours before Ezin came and rescued him, allowing him to heal up before offering him a spot in his crew after hearing about his magical exploits.

Mithra would travel and encounter many things in his journey with Ezin and his crew before they wound up at the coastal city of Mernea. It's while he's here that he'll be dragged to Ellipsa.
